We were approached by this client to help promote their business online.

We considered a two pronged approach – short term, we decided to run targeted Google AdWords campaigns for their services, including Weddings, Christenings, Funerals, Business Meetings, Hotels (in Leeds) and eating out. These campaigns were two fold, on the one hand they targeted people searching with the appended word of Leeds, Pudsey or surrounding areas. On the other hand, we also targeted generic keywords searched within a 15 mile radius of their location.

Long term, we also decided to look at ranking highly in the natural Google listings for several keywords that were relevant to the business. As of February 2012 we had achieved the following:

  • Position #1 in Google for “Business Meetings Leeds”
  • Position #1 in Google for “Hotels In Pudsey”
  • Position #2 in Google for “Civil Ceremony Reception Venue Leeds”
  • Position #3 in Google for “Wedding Reception Leeds”
  • Position #4 in Google for “Wedding Receptions Leeds”
  • Position #6 in Google for “Civil Ceremony Reception Leeds”
  • Position #6 in Google for “120 seat restaurant” (not that we targeted this phrase!)
  • Position #9 in Google for “Christening Venue Leeds”
  • Position #10 in Google for “Funeral Venue Leeds”
  • Position #10 in Google for “Civil Ceremonies Leeds”
These positions have been maintained for at least the last 2 years.

 

Ultimately all this is irrelevant if the business is not actually getting bookings and making money from these activities.

 

We analysed the amount of business that had been generated by these online marketing campaigns and discovered that over £60,000 had been generated in ONE year.
